White kitchens cabinets have been dominating the design industry over the past few years, but I've noticed a new trend lately where the color trend shifts from light to dark. Black kitchen cabinetry is as crisp, clean and classic as its white counterpart, and when paired with white walls and warm woods, the contrast is nothing short of dramatic.

Warm wood tones, open shelving and lots of white keep this kitchen from feeling to heavy. How amazing are these stools btw?!

This modern kitchen is heavier on the black cabinetry but still retaoins the high contrast with light wood floors and shiny white tile.

If all black cabinetry is too much, try creating the same effect with just doing a black island.

Or a black surround with a white island. Brass fixtures and hardware add warmth to the space.

This couple created the same look on a DIY budget. make sure to check out their before pictures.. the transformation is unbeleivable!

And I cant forget one of my favorite Fixer Upper kitchens this season.

So what do you think of the black cabinetry trend? Are you daring enough to go for it in your home?!
