How to Freshen Up Your Home For Spring

With another season upon us, this gives us an opportunity to freshen up our spaces. Our calendars may say January 1st is the first day of a new year, but in my mind, Spring is the true start to a fresh start where we can deep clean our homes, purge our closest and freshen up our spaces by adding in some new furniture and decor. We are sharing some of our favourite ways to freshen up your home without undertaking a complete makeover.

Florals and greenery, whether that be fresh flowers or botanical designs on pillows, are a great way to make your home feel fresh and spring-like.

Greenery and branches are one of my favourite ways to bring the feeling of the outdoors in. Refresh your greenery in your favorite vase with some high quality faux greenery, or try using branches and cuttings from your yard for an easy and inexpensive update.

Floral and botanical designs on pillows, blankets, and table linens are another way to create a spring like feel into your home. Just keep the floral patterns to a minimum and pair with a solid colour or other geometric pattern to keep it fresh and modern.

Adding colour is another way to incorporate spring and the light and airy feeling it brings with it into your home. Accents in soft greens and blues paired with neutral tones like creams and bright whites are ways to make your home feel fresh and bright. You can bring colour in by swapping out throw pillows and blankets, a new rug, or even some fresh artwork with a spring theme.

Textures and materials that lend a feel of spring such as wicker baskets, caned furniture or linen throws are another great way to update your space.

With this new season, we were inspired to create a round up of some of our favourite spring decor finds as well as a living room mood board that just feels like spring.
